A remote desert moon and the setting of our campaign’s start. This moon orbits the planet Ruuria, which is in the Outer Rim along the Hydian Way towards the Corporate Sector. It has hot and arid temperatures, high ambient radiation from its nearest star, and is shrouded by a newly formed nebula referred to the as the Adharan Anomaly. This Anomaly formed in the mysterious explosion that destroyed the luxury space liner the Adhara Gray. The moon was known as a pirates outpost and a place for various spacers, scoundrels, and scavengers to exchange goods, fence stolen items, and plan raids.
Prominent locations include:
- Starshard Canyon: Slide 1. Artist: Ameilee Sullivan. A canyon peppered with crystals that fell from a meteor shower 20 years before. At the end of the canyon lies a mysterious alien-appearing Tower which was dubbed by the locals as “The Mawspine.” Legends of a bizzare xenohelminth monster residing in the canyon keeps wanderers away.
- The Rodyle Redoubt: Slide 2. Artist: Coleton Palmer. Temporary headquarters of Rodyle Luxury Holdings, hastily established on the moon to protect corporate interests as the official investigation of the explosion of the Adhara Gray continues.
- Thaye’s Needles
- Dogfight Scene: Slide 3. Artist: Ameilee Sullivan. Our brave heroes pilot HVAF-500 Starfighters to intervene against a bombing raid masterminded by Rodyle.
- Duskin’s Cove: Slide 4. Artist: Albert Caruana. The primary settlement for those visiting the moon for business or leisure. Its structures are all repurposed from starships that have crashed on the moon in the decades before. It was named for the largest wreck in the settlement, the Tawny Duskin, which crash landed on the moon after an engagement with pirates in orbit nearby.
- Saltrock Hives: Slide 5. Artist: Albert Caruana. Mysterious formations discovered by the legendary Bardottan explorer Sir Felix Gillyweather. The home of a insectoid species that shares a hive consciousness. It is ruled over by a powerful Queen rumored to have the power to seize control of a person’s mind.
- Sugarsand Wastes: Slide 6. Artist: Albert Caruana. The vast empty desert wastes that stretch across the eastern part of the continent on the moon of Ruuria Prime. This region contains all of the locations our Heroes visited on the moon.
